Are you enrolled to vote?
The local authority elections are coming up and people are being urged to make sure they are eligible to vote.
The Electoral Commission has begun its campaign encouraging the public to check they will be ready for the postal vote in September and October.
Commission spokesman Robert Peden enrolment update packs would be sent to New Zealand's 3.1 million enrolled voters from Monday.
"We're asking everyone to check their packs to make sure we have their details correct, so they don't miss out on voting in the local elections," he said.
If a voter's details are correct, nothing needs to be done.
But those who need to update their details should to make the changes and send their documents back to the Electoral Commission as soon as possible.
Voting papers will be sent out by July 4. Anyone who has not received their voting pack by then is not enrolled to vote and should contact the Commission immediately.
