A woman jailed for her role in a kidnapping where the victim was threatened is "actively avoiding arrest" after allegedly breaching her prison release conditions.
A parole recall warrant has been issued for Brendalee Rameka and police believe she may be in the Bay of Plenty area or the Hawkes Bay.
In 2014 Rameka, then 35, pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping, injuring with intent to injure and threatening to do grievous bodily harm.
She was jailed for more than two years.
Rameka and her brother Simon Tehuirua Rameka admitted kidnapping and holding a woman for 16 hours, between them threatening to cut off her tongue, fingers and eyes and shoot her in the head.
During this time the victim was punched and kicked by the siblings, both affiliated with Black Power.
In 2008 Rameka was jailed for her part in an attack on another woman during which a boot print was left in the centre of the victim's face.
During sentencing for that attack the Tauranga District Court heard that Rameka's six-page conviction list included possession of an offensive weapon, and number of drugs and dishonesty offences.
