Emergency services are on their way to a car fire on the South Western motorway in Auckland, where the driver had a lucky escape.
Firefighters are rushing to the scene between Walmsley Rd and the airport link after the car caught fire about 12.40pm.
Northern Fire Communications shift manager Jaron
Phillips said the driver managed to get out of the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames.
It's understood the man is not injured.
