A car on fire at an Auckland reserve set alight a community adult literacy centre.
Fire Service northern shift manager Megan Ruru said four crews attended the Glen Innes blaze at the Maybury St Reserve at 6.11am after multiple calls reporting loud explosions.
Ms Ruru said a car was destroyed
and a building on the edge of the reserve, partly damaged.
Neighbour Greg Gray said he was woken by a loud explosion and saw a car burning fiercely.
It had been left on the grass close to the Glen Innes branch of the Auckland Adult Literacy Centre.
