An unlucky car owner is now missing a wing mirror after parking too close to the train tracks in a coastal North Canterbury town tonight.
Emergency services were called to Hapuku, north of Kaikoura, at 7.34pm after a train clipped the wing mirror of a parked car.
No one was
in the vehicle at the time.
A southern fire communications spokesman said the area was frequented by surfers and parking was always an issue.
A fire truck attended the scene and helped police to conduct traffic control.
