A man who allegedly held up a South Auckland bank while wearing shorts has been arrested.
The man claimed to have a weapon, before he made off with money in a wine cooler bag from the Waiuku branch of ASB Bank yesterday.
Police have arrested the 28-year-old man, who has been charged with aggravated robbery after he made a swift getaway from the bank in a green Subaru.
Detective James Ralph said the man allegedly entered the bank with a scarf covering his face about 1.50pm.
Mr Ralph said he allegedly approached a teller and indicated he had a firearm, before asking her to put money into a wine cooler bag.
