A man who bought alcohol for a 14-year-old girl has been charged by police.
The man, from Wakefield, will appear in the Nelson District Court on April 14 charged with supplying alcohol to a minor
Police said the incident occurred on March 21 in Richmond where they were monitoring behaviour in and around the Last of the Summer Fare.
The girl was found at Washbourn Gardens with a quantity of alcohol. She told Police she had given money to an 18 year old man who had then purchased the alcohol for her.
The offence carries a maximum penalty of $2000.
