The roads are back to normal after a busy spell with holidaymakers returning to Auckland.
Heavy traffic south on State Highway 1 through Warkworth has eased and traffic was flowing well, according to northern police communications.
Delays on Auckland's Southern Motorway in to the city had cleared and traffic was
flowing as normal.
It had been a pretty reasonable run in and out of the city considering it was the end of a long weekend, a spokeswoman said.
A spokesman for central police communications said there were no traffic issues around Wellington.
