Photo / Getty ImagesA 60-year-old woman requires surgery to have a bullet removed from her skull after she was shot in the head early this morning.Police were called to a house in Druces Road, Manukau, after reports of a shooting at 1.30am. A 60-year-old man appeared in Manukau District Court this morning charged with assault. Police said more serious charges were likely. A police spokesman said the victim was taken to hospital where a CT scan revealed that there was a bullet lodged in her head.Her condition is described as critical.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME.AdvertisementAdvertise with NZME."Police have located a firearm and a shell casing. An area canvas has been completed and witnesses interviewed.
