Going public today with images of graffiti found on murdered Manawatu farmer Scott Guy's house has led to a number of calls to police.
Mr Guy, 31, was shot dead in the driveway of his home on Aorangi Rd, Feilding, in the early hours of July 8 last year.
Just over 18 months before his murder - on the night of January 30, 2009 - a home being built by him and wife Kylee Guy was vandalised, with extensive damage estimated to be worth around $13,800.
Police are investigating the possible connection between the graffiti and the murder.
The phrase "Fuken Bitch Slappr" was painted in large letters on an outside wall and another phrase on a different wall which has been kept secret by police.
The phrase that had been blocked out was not a name but police could not reveal more because of the investigation, police central district communications manager Kim Perks told NZPA.
"We have certainly had a number of calls since going public with this but will be in a better position to assess those in the morning."
The graffiti was just one of a number of inquiries forming part of the investigation, Ms Perks said.
Police wanted to know why the property was targeted and whether the vandalism was linked to Mr Guy's murder and they want to hear from anyone who knew who vandalised the house or why it was vandalised.
