One person is dead and another suffered moderate injuries after a crash near Nelson this afternoon.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on West Bank Road in the Motueka Valley, about 12km south of Motueka, about 3pm, a Summit rescue helicopter spokesperson said.
A driver of one car was killed at the scene and a 34-year-old male passenger was treated for possible neck and head injuries by St John ambulance before being flown to Nelson Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries.
Police were unable to provide further details.
