An explosion which damaged a toilet cubicle in Tauranga's city centre was caused by a person smoking inside, police say.
The explosion was apparently caused by a staff member smoking in a cubicle where flammable cleaning supplies are kept.
The flammable cleaning products are thought to have ignited and caused the damage to the retail premises on Devonport Road.
No one was injured.
