A 44-year-old unemployed woman has been charged with a $10,000 cash snatch from Robbie's Bar and Bistro at Church Corner in Christchurch two weeks ago.
Video footage of the theft on March 25 was released by the tavern owners in the hope that someone would identify the woman involved, and it was displayed on the Stuff website.
Jacqueline Anita Owenjones, who lives in central Christchurch, was given a registrar's remand when her case was listed at Christchurch District Court today.
That meant she did not need to appear before a judge for the remand on bail, without plea, to April 20.
She asked for the remand so that she could get legal advice.
