A 17-year-old charged over a boyracer attack on a lone policeman is to stand trial.
Lewis John Garton, unemployed, appeared before Judge Christopher Somerville in Christchurch District Court today and was remanded on bail for a status hearing on June 2, the Christchurch Court News website reported.
Status hearings are held before a case proceeds to a defended hearing before a District Court judge.
Garton is charged with unlawful assembly and assaulting the police officer with a weapon during a boyracer incident on January 30.
