A disqualified driver who whacked another motorist in the face with a metal baton was jailed yesterday for two years and three months for what a judge said could "fairly be characterised" as road rage.
In the Tauranga District Court, Judge Thomas Ingram said no provocation excused what Darryn Horton, 37, meted out to the victim on December 7.
Horton had admitted assault, possession of an offensive weapon and driving while disqualified.
