The couple found dead in a Hamilton house after an apparent double shooting were Catherine May Carter, 45, and Robert Michael Carter, 52, the Waikato Times reported today.
The bodies were found in the Primrose St house in the Hamilton West suburb of Frankton on Tuesday.
Police have not released the names of the pair, and do not believe anyone else was involved in the deaths.
Mrs Carter, who had lived in Hamilton for 10 years and had been a caterer, had three children.
Her family said today it was likely her funeral would be held on Monday.
Fiona Giles said her sister, who lived on the two-unit property next to her other sister Helen, was a private woman and a loving mother.
Mr Carter's funeral will be held in the Founders Chapel of Remembrance at Taupo at 2pm tomorrow.
He was also a father of three.
Meanwhile, the case of a 36-year-old Whitianga man found dead on Kuaotunu beach in the Coromandel Peninsula on Sunday afternoon has been referred to the coroner.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances about his death.
