The wavelength for AM transmissions of the BBC World Service in New Zealand is set to change from Thursday night.
The broadcasts will move to 810AM from midnight.
The move has been made after the current 1476AM frequency was sold by its owners Auckland International Airport.
The Auckland Radio Trust, which relays the broadcasts on AM, is hopeful it will mean a stronger signal.
World Service programmes are transmitted 24 hours a day.
