With 2015 just hours away there are plenty of options for those still undecided on how to celebrate the New Year. From big festivals to low-key celebrations, here are the Herald's last-minute picks.

Best bet for a good party

Rhythm and Vines, Gisborne One-day tickets for tonight are still available. Grammy nominees Bastille will bring in the New Year and cap one of the country's biggest festivals at Waiohika Estate Vineyard. www.rhythmandvines.co.nz

Northern Bass, Mangawhai Now in its fourth year, the two-day festival is set near a swimming lagoon and beach. Final release tickets available to see tonight's line-up that includes international acts and NZ's own Fat Freddy's Drop. http://northernbass.co.nz

Highlife, Waiheke Held at the Stonyridge Vineyard, features dance music, dancers, performers, gourmet food, fireworks and hungover return ferry rides to central Auckland. Beg or borrow a ticket as it is sold out. www.highlifenye.co.nz

Sawmill Cafe, Leigh The energetic live performances of Swamp Thing will headline the New Year's party at Leigh's popular Sawmill Cafe. Get in early to line the stomach with fare including gourmet pizzas. www.sawmillcafe.co.nz

Together NYE, Auckland CBD A multi-roomed party at The Imperial Complex, Roxy and Everybody's in downtown Auckland, featuring British house music legend Riva Starr and local acts. www.iticket.co.nz

For the family

Fireworks, Mt Eden (or any other Auckland volcanic cone) Wander up Mt Eden to watch fireworks explode from the top of the Sky Tower when midnight strikes.

Party in the Park, Rotorua GLO Festival's Party in the Park is a family-friendly party on the lakefront. A concert and fireworks display are expected to attract 10,000.

Carnival, Mt Maunganui Dodgem cars, ferris wheel, hot dogs and carnival games at Blake Park. Good people-watching on the way home too as cars full of teenagers do laps of the main drag. Door sales only.

At home

Or, if the weather isn't flash (as predicted) stay home and watch us lead the world in celebrating 2015. TV One's show is hosted by Jason Gunn and Matt Gibb and is centred around a nationwide talent quest. TV3 plays the We Bought a Zoo movie and a NYE Graham Norton Show special.
