The Martinborough toilets were up and running just in time for the Martinborough Fair and Greytown is next in line for an upgrade.
South Wairarapa District Council (SWDC) facilities and parks officer Helen McNaught said the new Exeloo toilets, which cost about $137,000, are now fully functional with just thelandscaping left to do.
"They're operational but we haven't done the landscaping yet, [we] need to wait for cooler weather," Mrs McNaught said.
Landscaping will include the transfer of roses from Memorial Square.
She said when the new toilets first went into place there were numerous comments about how they looked.
The new Greytown Exeloo toilets will replace the current toilets between the Greytown Butchery and St John's.
Mrs McNaught said it was likely a heritage theme would also be adopted for Greytown's toilets.
The new public toilets were part of the SWDC's Long Term Plan and were first discussed in 2011. The cost of the Exeloos for both towns is about $274,000 after $400,000 was budgeted for the replacements.
