New skills-training package expected for Christchurch

The Government's set to announce a training-related package to help Christchurch this week.

The Prime Minister's dropped hints about the announcement, saying there will clearly be a great need for skills in the city as the rebuild gets underway.

John Key says a number of agencies, including tertiary education providers, are already considering the part they'll play.

He's not yet revealing how much the package will be worth, but says the plans will be outlined this week.
