Save A new possum poison designed as an alternative to 1080 has been given the tick of approval by the Environmental Protection Authority.
MZP Paste can now be imported into New Zealand and manufactured here.
The EPA warns it may be toxic to humans and other animals, and strict conditions have
been placed on its use.
The conditions require people using the poison to get permission from the Department of Conservation, and Ministry of Health.
