New Zealand new car registrations totalled 6399 in June, up 0.9 percent on May and 0.1 percent up on a year earlier, Land Transport NZ said on Tuesday.
Used car registrations - generally imported used cars - totalled 10,007 last month, down 9.2 percent on the previous monthand 2.5 percent lower than a year ago, the government agency said in a statement.
New commercial vehicle registrations during the month were 2530, 25.2 percent higher than the previous month but down 1.7 percent on June 2006.
The top selling make was Toyota with 1074 new cars followed by Holden with 736.
