New cannabis charges in alleged hydroponic growing ring

Fresh charges have been laid against two of the people allegedly involved in a Wellington hydroponic cannabis growing ring.

Allan Watson, 36, unemployed, of Porirua, appeared in the Wellington District Court yesterday charged with having methamphetamine, having a pipe for smoking methamphetamine, having cannabis and having cannabis resin.

Another of the group, Craig Anthony McMahon, 39, faced a new charge of selling cannabis during the year before June 2, along with charges of growing cannabis, having cannabis for sale, and having hydroponic growing equipment.

Both men were remanded on bail.
