She has been working on the book for the better part of the year, gathering recipes from locals.
Fellow Lions member Carole Fisher helped with the painstaking task of proof reading more than 80 pages of recipes.
Local businesses also helped with the fundraiser by placing advertisements in the book, said Mrs Kirkland.
"Their contributions have gone a long way to helping me to make the project a worthwhile fundraiser."
Mrs Kirkland said the club's youth fund, established last year, aimed to support local youth by helping them take part in sporting and cultural activities.
"We often have requests for assistance from families who are simply unable to afford the financial commitment that some extra-curricular activities require."
The fund has recently helped a young girl buy a traditional Scottish dancing costume for a national competition.
She said in the long-term, the club would like to set up a scholarship to help talented youth with their extra-curricular activities.
The book launch is this Friday, 5pm, at the Greytown Library/Town Centre. To order the book, email kirkland.linda1@gmail.com.
