Nelson crash on SH6 leaves one person critically injured, road closed

Multiple people have been injured, including one critically, after a two-vehicle crash in Nelson.

Emergency services responded to the crash on State Highway 6 and Wakapuaka Rd about 2.40pm.

Hato Hone St John took three people to Nelson Hospital in critical, moderate and minor conditions respectively.

State Highway 6 at Wakapuaka Rd is closed in both directions and the Serious Crash Unit has been advised.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
