The deadline for objections to Auckland's new CVs was 5pm yesterday.
Nearly 10,000 home-owners have objected to the Auckland Council's new property valuations.
The deadline to lodge objections was 5pm yesterday and a council spokesman this morning said it had received 9469, which was 1.79 per cent of total homes valued.
It was lower than the 11,715 objections received after thelast revaluation in 2011, which translated to 2.3 per cent of total homes valued.
The spokesman said a valuer would inspect the objector's property, which the council hoped would be completed by July next year.
"After the property has been inspected and the value reviewed, the objector will be notified of the change in value, if any."
If the homeowner was unhappy with the decision, they could decide to take their objection before the Land Valuation Tribunal (LVT). In 2011 one objection was heard before the LVT.
"Objections will be inspected by geographical area as this is the most efficient way for valuers to inspect properties," the spokesman said.
"The geographical areas visited first will not be known until the New Year."
