Police have arrested two men after the death of Boy Taylor in Napier’s CBD.
The suspects, aged 21 and 33, are charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Detective Inspector David De Lange said they cannot rule out the possibility of further arrests and charges.
Police have arrested two men following the death of Napier man Boy Taylor in the town’s CBD last Wednesday.
Detective Inspector David De Lange said the men, aged 21 and 33, have been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They are expected to appearin Hastings District Court on Monday.
“Police cannot rule out the possibility of further arrests and charges.”
Earlier this week De Lange said a post-mortem had been completed, confirming 58-year-old Taylor, whose family is from Tangoio, north of Napier, suffered injuries consistent with assault.
Taylor was found at about 3.15am on Wednesday on the paving a metre or two from a recess between Pascoes the Jewellers and One NZ in Emerson Street, near the intersection with Hastings St.
Police said attempts were made to resuscitate him, but he died at the scene.
