A stolen camera with holiday photos of a young woman drinking from a coconut should be reunited with its owner after the woman was recognised on the New Zealand Herald website.
The photo was posted on the Herald website this afternoon along with a plea from police for anyone whoknew who the owner of the camera could be.
The picture showed a smiling young blonde woman posing with a drink made from a coconut, with two straws sticking out.
Very quickly, from a rapid reader response, the young woman was recognised as Holly Yardley.
Ms Yardley said the camera belonged to her friend who did not realise it was missing until today.
Earlier today, Constable Brandon Edgar of Hamilton police said a Nikon Coolpix camera was recovered from a Hamilton East address that police officers searched last month.
Mr Edgar said items found in the house, and other information officers received, led police to believe the Nikon was nicked.
Photos still on the camera showed scenes from what seems to have been a holiday in the Cook Islands.
