Police are seeking a man in a black sports car in the wake of a fatal shooting in South Auckland last night.
Emergency services were called to an address in Papatoetoe at 12.20am, where they found the 26-year-old victim had been shot three times. He died several hourslater.
Detective Inspector John Timms said he did not believe the attack was random, and his staff were looking for a man aged in his 30s and driving a black sports car.
Investigators are today at site of the shooting.
Meanwhile, a man is in Middlemore Hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg after an altercation at a Mangere address around 10pm.
Police say his injuries are not life threatening, and no arrests have been made.
In Papakura, a man has serious head injuries after an assault at 2am. He is in hospital in a serious condition.
