Six young people have been injured after an Auckland party spiralled out of control, with reports of machetes, vicious assaults and a car being driven at partygoers.

Police have charged a teenager with aggravated assault and unlawfully taking a motor vehicle after an Auckland house party spiralled out of control.
Witnesses said up to 100 people gathered at the Mt Albert party on March 27 where six young people were injured, amid reports that macheteswere present, and a car was driven at partygoers.
Detective Senior Sergeant Anthony Darvill said a 17-year-old male was charged with wounding, aggravated assault, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle and being an unlicensed driver.
He will appear in the Auckland Youth Court on April 9.
Albert-Eden-Puketāpapa ward representative Julie Fairey said the footage gave a sense of the chaos and violence.
“I hope videos like this one help police and other agencies to identify those who need to be held accountable, and I encourage others who have evidence to get in touch with the police.”
