Peter Lee is the new national marketing manager of Fidelity Life Assurance. He has more than 19 years investment and insurance experience.

David Mason has been appointed visiting research fellow with the NZ Tourism Research Institute based at the Auckland University of Technology. He was last with Victoria
University.

Mark Thomas has become a partner in business advisory firm KPMG Tauranga. He joined KPMG in 1994 and heads the tax division.

Jim Bracknell, managing director of Newcall Group, has also been appointed chairman. He succeeds David Sun, managing director of Charoong Thai Wire & Cable Co, who has resigned as chairman but intends to remain on the board.

Glenda Macdonald is the new marketing director for law firm Simpson Grierson. She has more than 12 years of marketing experience.

Dispute resolution expert David Chan is one of four new partners at Minster Ellison Rudd Watts. He brings 12 years' experience, including work as a barrister in Melbourne. Nick Hodson has 10 years of corporate law experience and joined the company's national corporate group in 2001. Andrew Matthews is a competition and regulatory law expert and rejoined the company for a second time in 1999 after two years at Allen and Overy's London office. Karen Spackman is an employment law specialist, and has been with the firm since 1999.

Jo Patterson has joined business accelerator The Icehouse in the new role of sales and marketing manager. Previously she was marketing manager with the Direct Marketing Association.

Connell Graham has joined TelstraClear as the new head of customer operations. He was previously with Unisys as director, managed services South Pacific and general manager, global network services. He replaces Thana Vellummylum who was on secondment from Telstra.

Mark Nobilo is Shell's new retail manager for New Zealand. He was previously Shell's North Island retail manager. He replaces Bruce Emson, who is taking up a new position with Royal Dutch/Shell in Singapore.

Heineken brand manager Liz Parker is one of three new faces in the marketing team at DB Breweries' Waitemata Brewery. She has held marketing roles at Unilever, Glanbia Foods, New Zealand Milk Products and Mainland Products. Nick Rogers is the new brand manager for Monteiths, and was last assistant brand manager for Tui. Rene de Monchy has been appointed brand manager, new product development. He was last with New Zealand Dairy Foods.

Lee Boell is the New Zealand professional services manager for IT consulting and services company The Simpl Group. For the past three years he has been a senior consultant at Simpl.

Peter Coombe has been appointed to the new position of strategic project director for Lion Breweries Auckland, and is one of four new sales and marketing appointments. Coombe previously led the national trade marketing team. Rory Glass has been appointed national on-premise director, and has just completed two years leading the national accounts team. Angus Hamilton replaces Glass as national accounts director. He joined Lion Breweries in March 1999 as project leader in the national accounts team. Christoph Drefers has been appointed to the position of premium brands director. He was last marketing manager at New Zealand Dairy Foods.

Andy Lockley has started at Publicis Mojo as creative director, partnering executive creative director Lachlan McPherson. He joins from HHCL.

Varina Nissen is the new managing director, Australia and New Zealand, for recruiter Manpower. She has more than a decade of experience in the field of recruitment.

Les Whale joins Vodafone NZ as business development manager corporate sales. He was last with ExecuTrain as professional services manager and previously country manager with Concert Global Networks.

Barry Lindsay has become research manager at NZ First Securities' Wellington office, He was last with JBWere as an investment adviser. Dwane Clark, who has become an analyst, was last with PricewaterhouseCoopers' corporate finance team.

Gary George has been appointed as area manager mortgage finance for ABN Amro Craigs. He has more than 16 years' experience in the banking industry, the last 10 specialising in mortgage broking on the North Shore.

Kim Horgan is the new chief financial officer for Gen-i Australia, based in Sydney. She returns to Gen-i from Onesource where she held the position of general manager for business operations.

Paul Bebbington has become regional manager Asia Pacific of Software of Excellence. He will be based in Auckland. He was previously in business development roles with Oracle, as director Asia Pacific, and Ernst and Young.
