Former Silver Fern and current Black Fern Louisa Wall joins the Health Research Council of New Zealand as kaiwhakahaere rangahau hauora/Maori health research manager. She will liaise with hapu, iwi and Maori organisations, keeping them informed about the function of the council and ensuring Maori participate in the research process.

Former Sky City executive chef, Warren Bias, has been appointed group executive chef. Brian Tomlinson has moved from Sky City food and beverage analyst to Sky City food and beverage operations manager for the Auckland site.

Peter Lowe has been appointed to the board of UnitedNetworks. He is managing director, UtiliCorp Australasia, based at United Energy's offices in Melbourne.

Rachel Bakalich has recently returned to SAP New Zealand as Solutions Architect specialising in supply chain management. Bakalich was supply chain development manager at JD Edwards and Carter Holt Harvey.

After nearly six years of encouraging medical staff to leave New Zealand's hospitals to work in the UK, recruitment consultant Prudence Shaw - a nurse herself - is taking a change in direction and now recruiting with TMP Worldwide to place medical staff in New Zealand.
