Marketing agency AIM Proximity has appointed Tim Mooney as group account director. Mooney will be based in Auckland and returns to the firm from Brisbane where he was communications director for Euro RSCG Worldwide.

Drake New Zealand has appointed business development specialist Craig Muir as its national strategic sales manager. He recently returned to New Zealand after four years working in Geneva and New York as corporate business development manager for the Swiss-based SGS Group.

Grant Maxwell has joined Chemz as national sales manager. Chemz manufactures and sells speciality chemicals. Maxwell was formerly with CRC Industries for eight years.

Jilly Lind-Thomas has been appointed marketing manager, cards and consumer finance, at Bank of New Zealand in Auckland. She was previously senior premium product manager in Bank of New Zealand cards marketing. Dr Sunil Vather will take up the role of chief executive of Building Research on August 26 when the Dr Allan Nichols retires. Dr Vather joins the firm from Industrial Research where he was general manager of Science Strategy.

Jo Wilson has been appointed client services manager at Frog Recruitment. During her sports career she represented New Zealand at international equestrian events. Emma Reid has also joined the firm as client services manager. She was the in-house recruiter with Fisher & Paykel Finance. Mary-Anne Borrowdale has joined the Commerce Commission from law firm Chapman Tripp's Wellington office. She will be working in the enforcement team of the Commission's legal services branch and will specialise in Commerce Act litigation, with a particular interest in cartel conduct. Kiri Tahana has joined the Commission from Gilbert Tobin in Sydney. Tahana will work in the enforcement team of the Commission's legal services branch and will specialise in commerce Act litigation.
