Rotorua Crown Research Institute, Scion (formerly Forest Research) has appointed Dr Russ Ballard as chairman. He took over the role from Brian Armstrong.

Larry Little is to take over as chief executive of Ensis, the transtasman forestry research joint venture established by Scion (formerly Forest Research) and Australia's CSIRO division of forestry and forest products. Little is the chief of CSIRO's division of manufacturing and infrastructure technology and takes over the role next month from Dr Paul Cotterill.

Jared Boyle and Anne Zeeman have joined Qualmark New Zealand's national sales and account management team with Sarah Nelson. Boyle is working with the self-contained and serviced accommodation sectors, while Zeeman is responsible for the guest and hosted and exclusive accommodation areas. Nelson works in the services sector of the industry.

Papatoetoe law firm Kendall Abraham Lipman has merged with Brookfields Lawyers in Manukau. Two new partners and a consultant have been appointed to join the practice. Brett Abraham becomes a commercial and property partner, Lorraine Lipman is a litigation partner and Raymond Kendall joins as a consultant while continuing to advise in a private capacity.

Phitek Systems has appointed Andrew Greensmith as its chief financial officer. Before joining the firm he was the CFO for New Zealand bio-waste solution company VCU Technology Limited.

Alex Tan has joined the investigations and forensic services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers as an associate director. He has 17 years' experience in law enforcement - nine years with the Royal Hong Kong Police Force and eight years with the New Zealand Serious Fraud Office. Alex will be based in the Auckland office of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Steve Forward has joined Telecom's Enterprise IP team as technical marketing engineer. He was formerly a network design consultant at Logical/IBM, specialising in IP telephony.

Flight Centre has appointed Greg Parker as the business leader for Ticket Centre, its in-house ticketing division. Parker has been part of Flight Centre's senior contracting team in Australia.
