Mountainbiker injured in crash on precipitous peak

A mountain biker has crashed on the precipitous Te Mata Peak, near Havelock North.
The 20-year-old suffered suspected concussion and back injuries when he fell down a steep face today.
The Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter was able to land near him, allowing the crew to transfer him by stretcher to
the helicopter.
He was airlifted from the accident scene to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital for further treatment.
