Motueka man Shaun Matheson - known as Friar - reported missing

Police are worried about a Motueka man who goes by the name "Friar" who has not been heard from for four days.

Shaun Matheson, 32, was last seen at 12.30am on February 2 on the corner of King Edward and High Streets in the small town near Nelson.

Police today appealedfor any sightings of Matheson, who is described as 185cm tall, with a "distinctive fullginger beard and dreadlocked hair to his waist".

He was traveling to Christchurch in the early hours of last Thursday and may have been in the Springs Junction area, near Lewis Pass, that same day.

Police say they have "concerns for his wellbeing".

Any person who has seen the 32-year-old is asked to contact Nelson police on 03 546 3840.
