Motorcyclist in rush hour crash on Auckland motorway

A person has been taken to hospital after a rush hour crash between a car and motorcycle.

Police say the crash happened on the Northwestern Motorway heading west near the Newton Rd on ramp.

The right lane had been left blocked by the accident.

A spokeswoman said a tow truck was on its way and was expected to be cleared soon.

The NZTA said motorists heading in the opposite direction on the same stretch of motorway were encountering severe sun strike this morning.
