Motorcyclist dies in Bay of Plenty crash

A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car in the Bay of Plenty.

Tauranga Police, Fire and Ambulance services are currently at the scene of a single fatality crash on Carmichael Road, Bethlehem, in the vicinity of the Bethlehem Country Club.

The fatal crash involves a car and a motorcycle.

The rider of the motorbike died at the scene on Carmichael Rd where the fatal crash occurred around 7:00pm.

The Police Serious Crash unit is on-scene and will investigate the cause of the crash.

Carmichael Rd between Bethlehem Rd and St Michaels Ave is currently closed to all traffic with diversions in place.

Non-resident motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

No details in regard to the deceased will be released until next of kin and family members have been advised, police said.
