A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle at Waimate in Canterbury.
Police were called to the crash on Timaru Rd about 6.15pm this evening.
The motorcyclist died at the scene and four others received moderate injuries.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Timaru Road is expected to remain closed until about 10.30pm.
