A motorbike rider has died in a crash on State Highway 1 in Northland.
Police were called to the single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle near the intersection with Waipu Gorge Road just before 9.40 this morning.
“The rider died at the scene,” police said.
State Highway 1remains open.
“The Serious Crash Unit has conducted a scene examination, and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.”
