Vehicle crashes have closed the Manawatu Gorge for the second time today, with police diverting traffic away from State Highway 3 at the gorge's Woodville end.
Police were notified of the second two-car collision to happen on the stretch of road today about 4.15pm.
All occupants of the vehicles hadgot out, and ambulances and tow trucks were at the "serious" crash site, a police spokesman said.
An earlier crash blocked the gorge from about 6am, after one car crossed the centre line and ploughed into an oncoming vehicle. A woman driver was taken to Palmerston North Hospital with moderate injuries.
