Morphine overdose fatal

A man has died in Auckland after a drug overdose.

Acting Detective Sergeant Blair Hayde said police were called after a woman found her 31-year-old partner unconscious and a 30-year-old dead in an outbuilding at a house in Ivanhoe Rd, Grey Lynn.

The 31-year-old initially appeared to be in a serious condition but was able to walk to the ambulance.

Mr Hayde said the 30-year-old appeared to have died from a morphine overdose.

Nobody else was being sought in connection with the death.
