More than 800 West Auckland households are without power after a car crashed into a power pole this evening.
Police said the car collided with a power pole on West Coast Rd in Glen Eden, bringing the power pole and power lines down.
According to Vector's outage map, 823 households
in the area lost power as a result.
Power is expected to be restored by 10.30pm.
West Coast Rd is closed between Pleasant and Rua roads while the engineers restore the power.
