Molotov cocktails thrown at two homes

Levin police are investigating after molotov cocktails were thrown at two houses last night.

Sergeant Nathan Hessell told NZPA the first home-made weapon was thrown at a house in Hinemoa Street about 11pm and the second hit a house in Weraroa Road about an hour later.

Mr Hessell said in both cases the bottles, filled with flammable liquids, hit the sides of the houses and caused minor fire damage.

He said the occupants of the Hinemoa Street address included several children, who were shocked at the attack.

The incidents appeared to be linked given the similarity of the attacks, Mr Hessell said.
