Moko the friendly dolphin missing

Moko, the famous bottlenose dolphin, has gone swimabout.

The dolphin has not been seen since Friday.

Moko departed from Tolaga Bay, north of Gisborne, after getting a couple of days of close attention from lots of people.

People there say they are missing him.

A DOC official says they would be keen to hear of any further sightings of the dolphin as he continues his tour of the East Coast.

And while he may turn up again, he may not.

The official says Moko is coming into adulthood now and it is possible he has gone off looking for a mate..

Moko appeared at Mahia Beach in 2007.
