Moko the friendly dolphin is on the move again, turning up yesterday in the port of Tauranga.
Moko rejoined the fishing boat Eskdale, which he followed out of Gisborne at the start of the year and trailed it from Whale Island off the coast of Whakatane to Tauranga early yesterday.
Eskdale was unloading in Tauranga today before setting out on a five-day fishing trip.
The Eskdale crew believes Moko is attracted to the boat because they play loud music when fishing.
In the middle of January, Moko followed the Eskdale from the East Coast to Whakatane and had been hanging out there ever since.
Whakatane Moko minder Kirsty Carrington said Moko had not been seen in the river there since the heavy rain this week.
