The air search today for the two missing fisherman was unsuccessful, police say.
"Search conditions and visibility are reported to be good however the air search has revealed no sign of the missing pair," a police statement said.
The police maritime unit attempted last night to recover the boat that
was found overturned on the bar. However, it has become stuck.
This morning, police had been able to reach the boat again to inspect it, determining that the missing men were not inside the boat, the statement said.
The police Eagle helicopter has also searched the Manukau Bar area for the 74-year-old man who has been missing since Thursday evening, when he was thrown from his boat. There was also no sign of him.
