Missing elderly woman with dementia safe

Ilaisaane Matekihehau was last seen on McCullough Ave at 8am today.

An 81-year-old woman with dementia missing from Mt Roskill has been found.

Police appealed for public help in finding Ilaisaane Matekihehau, who was last seen on McCullough Ave at 8am. She was walking towards Duke St.

This morning police said Matekihehau had returned safely home.

Police initially feared she might have made it to as far away as Mission Bay, where she had wandered to before.
