Missing deaf woman found safe and well in central Auckland

A deaf woman last seen two days ago has been found in central Auckland.

Wendy Sedon, 60, was said to be "safe and well" when she was located with the help of members of the public today.

"Police would like to thank the members of the public who came forward with information," a statement said.

Authorities earlier appealed to the public to keep an eye out for a deaf woman last seen leaving her home two days ago.

She was last spotted leaving the property, in Onehunga, about 7pm.

Sedon is deaf and communicates by writing on pieces of paper, police said earlier.

Authorities carried out a number of extensive inquiries and searches in the area to try to find her.
