The mother of missing Auckland woman Carmen Thomas has this week been filming TV show Police Ten-7 since arriving from South Africa to help search for her daughter.
Police say Teresa Scott, whose 32-year-old daughter Carmen has not been seen since June 27, arrived in Auckland late last Friday andhas since been meeting with police.
Yesterday, she filmed with the crew of Police Ten-7 for this week's show, which screens on TV2 tomorrow night, and has given police "valuable assistance".
Ms Scott has yet to meet with her five-year-old grandson and his
father but hopes to this week, say police.
"It's a very trying time for Teresa and we appreciate her coming to
New Zealand to try and fill some gaps in our profile of Carmen,''
investigation head Detective Inspector Mark Benefield said in a media
release.
Police have also provided a more recent photo of Ms Thomas, who lived in Remuera and worked as an escort, which they hope may help to jog people's memories of the mother-of-one.
Officers are currently trawling through hundreds of hours of CCTV footage from various shopping and entertainment precincts in Auckland and Hamilton.
Police are still appealing for any sightings of Carmen or her car anytime after June 27 and want people with information to
